In cultures worldwide, holiday traditions and festivals are deeply woven into the social fabric of families and communities where people can commemorate special occasions and build connections with others. In fact, participating in such events can install a greater sense of belonging and a remembrance of who we are, what we believe, and who we want to become.
In this broadcast, Randall Davis brings together teachers from four parts of the world, and they explore together the unique flavor of end-of-year holiday traditions in their countries while exploring some universal perspectives on what these events mean to them. The goal is to engender greater understanding and appreciation for our world neighbors.
Ideas on how to integrate holiday traditions into the classroom will be discussed as well.
