There were large queues at San Jose’s international airport on Saturday as a British Airways flight became delayed overnight at a time of Christmas.
According to British Airways’ website, flight BA2236 was delayed until Sunday.
British Airways has been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, with Europe currently facing a fifth wave of the virus, and the airline faced with staffing issues this festive season as a result of the pandemic, leading to cancellations and delays.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this script incorrectly stated British Airways had cancelled its flights due to concerns over the Omicron variant of COVID-19. This has now been corrected to reflect the delayed status of Saturday’s flight BA2236 from Juan Santamaria International Airport to London Gatwick Airport.
