The Department of Languages and Culture Studies and the Office of Education Abroad at University of North Carolina at Charlotte conduct their annual Spanish Language and Culture in Costa Rica summer program in San José, Costa Rica. This year marks 28th consecutive year of the Spanish Language and Culture in Costa Rica program at UNC Charlotte!
Students receive credit hours in language and culture by attending language classes for four hours per day and going on cultural excursions to museums, markets, national parks, and more. All courses and tours are conducted in Spanish. Students also stay with local host families to further the immersion experience.
This year, 15 undergraduate students will be participating in the program. The students represent a diverse background of Spanish-language experience and come from numerous academic majors. Many of the program participants will be traveling outside of the country for the first time. This is an incredible, eye-opening experience for them!
